Self-help
The Rainbows web site has been set up to give you ideas and inspiration to help you to live more positively and the tools on the next page will give you access to some great self-help tools (some of them free) that you may not have come across on your own. These will be tools that I believe can motivate and inspire you to make more of yourself and your life. And of course, to live your life a little more positively. ;~)
But what actually is self-help? The term self-help is used to describe personal development, self-development, personal growth and more. However, whatever you call it, the premise is the same.
Dictionary definitions of personal development include ‘The acquisition of knowledge, skills, and experience for the purpose of enhancing individual performance and self-perception,’ and ‘The process of gradually becoming bigger, better, stronger, or more advanced.’
I believe that we’re all on a self-help/personal development path, whether or not we realise it. I think it’s something that most of us do every day without even thinking about it. Whenever we try and find a new or better way of doing, (or dealing with) something; this contributes to our growth and learning, which is all part of our development.
And I believe that self-help doesn’t just include nurturing or improving the spiritual/emotional side of us either. It includes developing or improving all aspects of our mind, body, life, relationships and more. After all, what affects one part of our lives, affects everything. For instance, you can’t be a good friend or partner if you’re suffering from lack of self-esteem and you can’t give yourself one hundred percent to anything you do if your body isn’t really healthy. And how can you have those ‘aha’ moments and ideas that could change your life, if your mind isn’t really focusing because you’re worried about something that may have happened in the past or thinking ahead to what disasters may happen tomorrow?
In my experience, personal development/self-help tools can help you:
Raise your self-esteem and self-confidence.
Free yourself from the blocks you are putting on your success whether in life generally or financially.
Put the past into perspective. Learn the lessons it contains and move on.
Help your healing process.
Discover your true purpose in life by aligning you with the things you most love to do.
Energise and motivate you to achieve your goals.
Enjoy life again.
I’ve learned through my journeys on the self-help path that we’re not here to struggle. We’re here to live, to love and to enjoy life. And if you’re not currently doing this then perhaps the tools here will help you to do so. It is my greatest hope that they will...
