Travelogue #2 Caffé Nero
Updated: Aug 16
Well, I can't tell you how lovely it is to be back! To explain, I rolled up to Caffe Nero this morning for my usual takeaway cappucino and found actual seats and tables out. So for a short while at least, I can sit here and get back to the planning again. And as I sit and sip my delicious brew, the subtle sounds of David Bowie are whispering to me of the old days and of new and exciting times to come. Bliss!
Of course, life will never be the same again after what we're going through, but things are progressing slowly and I'm trying to create a 'new normal' for myself (as are we all I think).
The market place here is quiet and it's no problem finding a parking place in Tesco's either. (Some positives of this situation we find ourselves in!) I'm not going to worry about lockdown ending too early or the pubs being open again, as those things are not within my realm of experience. I'm neither a health professional nor a politician. Let them do all the pontificating and sorting these things out. I'm just going to keep my distance and get on in my own small way, doing what I can to protect myself and those around me. It's all anyone can do, I think.
It helps my mood that the sun is beaming down as I sit here and write. Sunshine makes us all feel happier, don't you think? And we had some lovely rain yesterday which saved me having to water the plants ;) And my planner for this week, contains details of meet-ups with friends via Zoom and business networking too. And there's the regular half-hour Tuesday meditation group that I really look forward to each week, so life's not looking too bad really.
It doesn't look like there'll be a travelogue from Jersey this year as our flights have been cancelled but we'll see... If not, there's always next year to look forward to isn't there?
Meanwhile, let's face the 'Strange Changes' with courage and hope and I hope your own journeys, albeit small ones for now, are safe and happy.
